Poverty leads couple to sell their child, three held

Golaghat, July 5: A sensatiol incident came to light in Golaghat when three women were caught by the CWC for allegedly selling a one-month old child to a couple.

According to reports, three assistants who worked at a doctor’s clinic located near KK Civil Hospital in Golaghat, bought the one-month old child of Anil Majhi and Mousumi Majhi from Bilgaon in Barpathar by giving an amount of Rs 4,000 and later sold the child to a couple med Lakhi Changmai and Rupali Changmai of Borhulla in Jorhat. The three women bbed by the CWC team for allegedly selling the infant were identified as Ri Das, Jeuti Begum and Rita Begum.
