ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Power Minister Tamiyo Taga is on a mission abroad to gain first hand technological knowledge to make flowing water of various rivers of the State useful for rest of the nation.

Taga leading a high-level official delegation before leaving New Delhi by air for Germany informed over telephone that he would be on a study tour and attend a training at Frankfurt and Spain during August 20 to 27 for capacity building on "integration of renewable energy resources into grid" for higher management bath.

When asked if his training would help Arunachal Pradesh, considered future power of India with 58,000 MW hydropower potential alone, to attain its perceived status, he quipped: "There is no doubt about huge power potentials of our Himalayan state including renewable sources. But the State is yet to tap them for lack of technologies and methods. A law maker needs to have practical knowledge for translating any policy framed into reality to benefit the state," he said.

The team includes the Power commissioner too, he added.
