Power tillers distributed to farmers

KOKRAJHAR, February 11: The Executive Member (EM) of Agriculture, BTC, Ansumwi Khungur Boro on Wednesday ceremonially distributed power tillers to beneficiary farmers of BTC region under 50 per cent subsidy. A distribution function was held at the conference hall of the Director of Agriculture, BTC.

The Agriculture EM of BTC, Ansumwi Khungur Boro said as many as 338 power tillers would be distributed among the farmers of BTC region under the 50 per cent subsidy from the council authority. He said the BTC was giving importance to the need of modernizing the agriculture sector for increasing the productivity. He hoped that the power tillers would help farmers to a great extent.

The distribution programme was also attended by the Director and Council Head of the Department (CHD), Agriculture, BTC Jagat Bandhu Brahma, District Agriculture Officer, Kokrajhar, Mahindra Swargiary, Executive Engineer Hiren Boro and Assistant Director, MC Borgoloi.
