Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yoja launched in Moriagon

MORIGAON, June 18: State Revenue and Power Minister Pallab Lochan Das on Sunday iugurated the distribution of free LPG connections  under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yoja at Tarun Ram field in Morigaon. Addressing the gathering, the minister said that the government was determined to check corruption at grassroots level so that people could get benefit of various schemes promoted by the Central Government.  He stressed that the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yoja was for empowerment of poor women. Earlier, the programme began with a felicitation programme organized by Gopal Mahanta, Assistant Director Supply Depeartment, Morigaon. Thereafter, Pallab Lochan Das lit the lamp. The Morigaon Deputy Commissioner urged the panchayat presidents and secretaries to distribute forms to actual beneficiaries. He also said that total 5,000 beneficiaries had been selected for the first phase in the district for free LPG connection in the district. The meeting was also attended by Chandan Kumar, Senior Mager, IOC, LPG, Ramakanta Deuri, MLA of Morigaon and Ra Bora, ADC, Morigaon.
