Pradyut Bordoloi slams BJP government for failing to generate employment

NAGAON: Former minister and Congress candidate for the Nagaon parliamentary constituency, Pradyut Bordoloi on Wednesday held a press conference at Nagaon Rajiv Bhavan where he said that the overwhelming support and cooperation he had received from the Congress workers of the constituency would ascertain his victory.

He reiterated further that the spontaneous gathering of party workers at various places on his way to Nagaon from Guwahati indicated that the Congress this time would win in Nagaon. Bordoloi said that dissidence had been seen among ticket aspirants of other political parties but such dissidence was not there in the Congress. Hence, despite being denied ticket in the Nagaon constituency, Dr Durlav Chamua was supporting him.

He said that during the tenure of the BJP-led government, the BJP and RSS had suffocated the society with religious polarization and apparently blocked the progressive activities of the people. He slammed the government for completely failing to generate or introduce employment opportunities for the youth of the country, although it promised to give top priority to employment generation before the last Lok Sabha election.

In the press conference, former minister Rokibul Hussein, Rupahihat MLA Nurul Huda, former MLA Nagaon Sadar Dr Durlav Chamua and other dignitaries of district Congress were present.
