Preparations made for smooth counting process by Dibrugarh district administration

Dibrugarh: All preparations with respect to smooth counting of votes of the Lok Sabha elections on May 23 have been completed by the district administration.

In a press conference, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Dibrugarh District Election Officer, Pallav Gopal Jha said that the vote counting process would begin at 8 am after the door of the strong room located in Dibrugarh Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School was opened at 7 am in the presence of General Observer, contesting candidates or their representatives and election agent. He added that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission this time, five polling booths in each Vidhan Sabha constituency would be chosen by way of lottery for counting of the votes under VVPAT. Jha also said that to ensure that the day passes off peacefully, security measures had been stepped up.
