Preparations on for Independence Day Celebration in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: As directed by the Government of Assam, the district administration, Kokrajhar is all set to observe the 72nd Independence Day in a befitting manner with a three-day colourful programme throughout the district. Sources from DIPRO, Kokrajhar said a patriotic song competition amongst the students of schools, colleges and university will be held on August 13 at 10 am in the auditorium hall of the Kokrajhar Commerce College as part of the programme. On August 14, art competition on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and quiz competition on the theme of freedom movement will be organized amongst the students at BPCM English Medium High School, Kokrajhar.

As such, like the preceding years, it has chalked out a day-long programme for August 15. Meanwhile, the district administration has taken all precautionary measures for smooth holding of Independence Day in the district. Security has been tightened to thwart any subversive attempt while vigil has been increased in sensitive areas of the district.
