President’s police medal for Joseph

SHILLONG, Jan 27: Dr. Sabu A. Joseph, Deputy Inspector General of BSF Ftr HQr, Meghalaya has been decorated with the President’s police medal for distinguished service on the eve of Republic day 2017 by the President of India. The officer joined Border Security Force as Assistant Commandant in Sept 1984. During his service he remained deployed in Tripura, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Punjab, J&K on LOC and in CI duty during peak militancy. He led many operations without caring for his persol security in the toughest terrains & extremely challenging conditions and was instrumental in elimiting several militants along with seizure of large quantities of arms and ammunition. He is presently posted as Principal Staff Officer, HQ Meghalaya Frontier, BSF, Shillong. The Officer ensured welfare of jawans and an efficient grievance redressal on top priority. Improvement of environment was always on top of his agenda.
