Programme on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ held

Gossaigaon, March 25: Under the civic action programme, the 31st Bn. SSB Gossaigaon organized a ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ programme at Gossaigaon along with medical and veteriry camp at Takampur LP School under Kokrajhar district recently.
The programme was iugurated by Amit Kumar, DIG SHQ. SSB Bongaigaon in the presence of Balraj Singh and other officials of the battalion. A street march was organized by the students of the area and SSB staff for awareness on the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ campaign. Bank personnel of the Assam Gramin Vikash Bank were also present who described many schemes related to Beti Padao. Prizes, gifts and certificates were distributed during the programme by the DIG.
Around 74 villagers and 564 animals were given free treatment in the medical and veteriry camps. SSB Jazz band from Guwhati also put up a spectacular performance to end the programme.
