Protest by high school teachers

GUWAHATI, Feb 22: The Assam High School Teachers’ Association (AHSTA) staged protest at Last Gate in support of a slew of demands.

The Association stated that the schools which were permissible under SEBA and vercular schools recognized by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) should be provincialized. Other demands of the association are – provincialization of posts of the left out teachers, release of stagnt fincial assistance of schools at the enhanced rate, filling up of vacant posts in schools, regularization of trained computer teachers appointed in 2001 at fixed pay, etc.
