Dibrugarh, June 21: In synchronization with the long-drawn-out protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, many members of CPI (M-L) took to the streets on June 20 to express their strong reservations regarding the bill. The rally that started from Dibrugarh Old Railway Station culminated in front of the DC office, where the agitators gathered to condemn the bill. They considered the proposed bill to be a grave threat looming over the State and its people. It will also put the Assamese language and culture in jeopardy, they held. Earlier, the protesters walked through the streets crying out slogans against the bill as well as the ruling government. Some also carried placards having the picture of Bishnu Prasad Rabha on them.
