Protesters block NH-36

GAON (HAIBORGAON)/Batadrava, May 15:  An irate mob of greater Rangalu area in gaon district on Monday morning went on a rampage and blocked the NH-36 road for hours causing traffic jam, following the alleged arrest of one Ramjan Ali on Sunday afternoon for attempting to kidp a child from Ramkrish Raod in gaon town.

According to sources, the irate mob staged protest against gaon Police demanding immediate release of Ramjan Ali as he was totally innocent. The mob even set fire to tyres in the middle of the road and blocked the entire road for hours which created traffic congestion on the road over hours. Later on, the higher police officials of the district, including SP Devaraj Upadhyai, rushed to the spot and tried to mage the mob to disperse. But the irate mob continued their protest for hours. They demanded that they would continue their strike till Ramjan Ali was released. Later, the gaon Superintendent of Police, finding no other way to mage the mob, filly decided to release him.
