Protests against Pulwama terror attack in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Beginning with silent prayer offered by Doomdooma Press Club members in memory of the 44 CRPF jawans killed in the Pulwama terror attack on the stage of Chiranjib Theatre before the start of its evening drama and lighting of candles at Gandhi Murti by Hindu Jagaran Manch on Friday, a virtual bandh was observed in this premier industrial township on Saturday with a series of protest rallies taken out by different organizations.

A strong protest mood was writ large on the faces of people. Martyr Maneswar Basumatary’s death especially cast a pall of gloom across the State and most of the people glued themselves to the TV to witness the tearful farewell of all the 44 jawans in different parts of the country.
