PSS to observe World Environment Day

SIVASAGAR, April 9: Every year NGO Parivesh Suraksha Sammittee (PSS) celebrates World Environment Day with different actions in order to draw attention to importance of protecting tural resources and environment in which we live as well as to emphasize co-existence with ture and to understand needs and benefits on both sides. “This year we will celebrate June 5 in memory of Bhakhar Ojha Hem Chandra Baruah, with students of Temple Town Euro School at Joki gar, Rang Ghar Chariali, Sivasagar,” said Rupraj Baruah of PSS. “People cut trees but do not plant them, so on the occasion of World Environment Day, we will distribute saplings on June 4 and will carry out plantation drive on June 5 as well with a view to spread awareness about planting and conserving trees,” said Baruah.
