Public meeting on NRC update held at Dhemaji

DHEMAJI, March 29: A public meeting in connection with updating of NRC in Dhemaji district was held recently at the Dhemaji Public Auditorium. The meeting was chaired by Ajit Kumar Bordoloi, Deputy Commissioner, Dhemaji and the object of the meeting was explained by Mandira Chayengia, District Information and Public Relations Officer, Dhemaji. Several top officials including Mainul Islam Mandal, Superintendent of Police, Dhemaji and a number of representatives of different organisations like the Dhemaji District Students’ Union, district unit of the Chutia Students’ Union, Deori Students’ Union, Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union, AJYCP, TMPK, Dhemaji District Jourlists’ Association, Dhemaji Sahitya Sabha, Dhemaji District Citizens’ Union, Dhemaji District Teachers’ Association took part in the meeting. A good number of heads of government and non-government educatiol institutions and other offices along with members of the general public attended the meeting. Khagen Borgohain, District NRC resource person, explained about updating of the NRC in the meeting.
