SHILLONG, Aug 2: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Congress MLA Pynshgain N Syiem sustained his belligerence stand against Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, even though he abstained from divulging his opinion before the two AICC general secretaries Mukul Wasnik and CP Joshi during the 45-minutes long meeting at Pine Wood Hotel here on Tuesday evening.

Syiem, a known loyalist of Congress MP Vincent H Pala did not turn up to meet the two AICC leaders at Congress Bhavan, Shillong on Tuesday.

Instead, Syiem went to meet the two AICC leaders at Pine Wood Hotel along with his supporting MDCs.

Speaking to reporters, Syiem refuted the notion that he is planning to float a new political party.

“I am a Congressman and we deliberated with the Central leaders on the party agenda and policies and our state party leadership’s ibility to live up to the people’s aspiration,” he said.

“I didn’t speak a word on changing the present leadership and Chief Minister but I briefed about the waning trust of the people,” the KHADC Chief stated.

Asked repeatedly whether he is in favor of a change of leadership, Syiem said, “I am not going to dwell on the issue but the AICC leaders are aware of the ground realities that exist in the state”.  Admitting his differences with the Chief Minister on issues which he considered vital to the people and the interest of the party, the CEM further stated, “You (media) all know about it and I informed the AICC leaders about the genesis till the scene today”.
