Quiz contests mark Rongali Bihu celebration in gaon

Batadrava, April 19:  Rongali Bihu celebration continued with traditiol pomp and gaiety across gaon. To mark the festival, quiz contests were held in different locations of the district. The Senchowa Ancholik Sangsritik Mancha of gaon organized a prize-money quiz at Senchowa, gaon recently. A good number of teams participated in the quiz where Debasish Bhuyan and Gorakhya Jyoti th Pandit were adjudged as champions, while Biswajyoti Borah and Kanu Majummder were declared runners-up and Hemantagiri Saikia and Abhijit Barkotoky were awarded the third prize.

  Similarly, on April 17, a quiz was held at Ratkanta Barkakoty playground, Amolapatty under the aegis of Amolapatty Pub gaon Rangali Bihu Sanmilan. In this contest, Debasish Bhuyan and Gorakhya Jyoti th Pandit emerged as the winners, Bishal Tamuly and Bhaskarjyoti Parashar were the first runners-up while Biswajyoti Borah and Kanu Majumder finished third. Both the contests were conducted by quiz master yanjyoti Borah and Chandrajit Das of gaon Quiz Forum.

  On the other hand, on the same day, Raha Pahupuri Khaiti Bihu Udjapan Committee organized a prize-money quiz competition for the students up to Class 10. The quiz was conducted by Amiya Kumar Baruah. A wide range questions from Bihu and Assamese culture were posed by the quizmasters in the quiz contests.
