NAGAON: Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain was exempted to appear in the Nagaon Chief Judicial Magistrate Court till April 6, 2019 for a molestation case registered against him after Gauhati High Court passed an interim stay order.

He was summoned to be appear before the court on February 14 and the minister filed a writ application to Gauhati High Court in this regard. The court stayed all proceedings in the floor till April 6. According to sources, High Court relaxed him to appear in the court till April 6 through an interim verdict.

A married woman and her sister-in-law registered a molestation case against the minister and thereafter Nagaon Police submitted a report where it was stated that the matter was nothing but a mere misunderstanding between them and appealed to the court to dismiss the case. But the court was not satisfied with that and took up the case for trial.
