ITAGAR, Feb 13: Aruchal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa has instructed for payment of all the salaries besides medical reimbursement (MR) and travelling allowance (TA) bills for the State government employees within March 2016.
Reviewing the Revised Estimate 2015-16 and Budget Estimate for 2016-17 at Raj Bhavan here yesterday, the governor said that salaries of all government employees, including contract employees must be paid within the set time frame of March next, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed here today.
Expressing his concerned about the welfare of the employees, Rajkhowa instructed that all the genuine MR bills must be cleared. He also instructed that all TA bills be paid.
To instill renewed zeal and motivation amongst the police personnel, who have to travel to various parts of the State and engaged for law and order duties wherever they are required, the governor gave special instruction for payment of their long pending TA bills amounting Rs 20 crores within current fincial year, the communiqué said.
Many important decisions were taken in the review meeting yesterday which include Rs 5 crore for Ramakrish Mission Hospital, Itagar for setting up of Intensive Care Units (ICU) and other ancillary requirements, Rs 1crore each to Tomo Riba State Hospital, harlagun and District Hospitals of Ziro, Tezu and Pasighat to procure medical equipments such as ECG machines, ventilators, defibrillators and oxygen concentrators, the report said.
Striving for quality higher education in the State, it was also decided to provide Rs 1 crore to Dera tung College, Itagar, Indira Gandhi College Tezu and Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat for purchase of better table and benches for the students. The fund would be placed with the college magement committee.
Expressing concern on drug addiction in the State, it was decided to set up de-addiction and rehabilitation centres in Wakro, Tezu, Roing, Khonsa, Changlang and Longding. Rs 5 lakhs would be given as seed money for each centre to the DC’s to start the work and rest amount would be given in the next fincial year.
The meeting also decided that Rs 1crore to be earmarked for expansion of jails to decongest jails in the State and also Rs 15 lakhs would be given to Home Department for setting up of Juvenile homes at Pasighat, Itagar and Dirang in the first phase to start with.
Keeping in view of the absence of college in remote Tawang, the governor, who visited the district last year has instructed that a college be set up in Tawang and for this Rs 10 lakhs would be given to education department to prepare a DPR along with identification of appropriate land in Tawang.
Anticipating road blocks during rainy season due to landslides, an amount of one crore would be provided to PWD (Highways) to purchase JCB and dumper to immediately clear any landslide in the Capital Complex areas.
The governor also instructed that a corpus fund called Governor‘s Relief Fund may be created to help those needing urgent medical help, the communiqué added.
