Rape cases reported in State

SHILLONG, Feb 17: In an alleged case of rape, Atul Pal (50) on February 14 attempted to rape one nine year old girl at Nongjri market (SWKH). In this connection, the police arrested the accused and investigation is on. In another case on February 13, a woman lodged a complaint that on February 13 one unidentified taxi driver took her twenty year old daughter to an unknown destition and raped her. Meanwhile, on February 11, one Phedrik Sawkmie (30) raped his twelve year old step-daughter at Mawlang village under Umiam PS (RB). However, police informed that the accused is absconding and the matter is under investigation.
