Recall excess officials from Delhi: CS to departments

Itanagar, July 5: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has directed all the parent departments to call back their officers and officials who are posted in Delhi on deputation and report to the parent departments in the state so that their services are better utilized in the home state.

He said this during a meeting held here on Wednesday to review the status of transfer and withdrawal of excess staff from various office establishments of the state government posted at Delhi.

Based on the cabinet decision to withdraw all the officers and officials of various departments from the office of Resident Commissioner (RC), New Delhi with directions to report back to their parent department in the state, the chief secretary asked the concerned department heads to strictly follow up the matter and submit an action taken report at the earliest.

“If services of some of the staffers are required and are being utilized, then there’s no need to call them back”, he added. However, he advised the concerned departments to consider special cases of medical, etc on humanitarian grounds before recalling them. In order to tap irregularities and inefficiency, the chief secretary has directed all the parent departments to transfer the service books of the staff posted in Arunachal Bhawan and Arunachal House in Delhi to the office of the Principal Resident Commissioner (PRC), New Delhi. To further address accountability and punctuality, he also directed the General Administration Department to issue an order directing all the staff posted in Delhi to directly report to the PRC. As per latest report, 62 staffers are posted in Delhi, an official report informed here today.
