Refresher Courses For AHSEC Teachers After Bihu

GUWAHATI: Post-Bohag Bihu, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) is going to introduce a refresher course for +2-level teachers so as to ensure quality and modern education for students.

After +2-level students opt for various courses which suit them and which they are capable of. Thus, such courses for teachers, who shape students’ capabilities for what they aspire to, augur well.

The Council held its meeting for annual plan schemes vis-à-vis allocation of funds for them. Funds, according to sources in the Council, have been already been allocated for the subject-specific refresher courses. The courses, according to sources, are going to start soon after the Bohag Bihu.

Sources say that teachers’ refresher courses will be in all streams – Science, Commerce and Arts – in certain subjects. The subjects for +2-level teachers in Science stream, according to sources, are – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. For Commerce +2-level teachers the subjects for the course are Accountancy, Business Studies and Banking. For arts teachers, the courses are Swadesh Adhyayan, Economics, Geography and History.

Meanwhile, the Council, in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), is contemplating on holding a brainstorming seminar on entrance examinations for +2-passed students like engineering, medical etc.
