Retired Political Assistant Moli Boje Passes Away In West Siang District, Arunachal

Itanagar: The mortal remains of retired political assistant (PA) Moli Boje who passed away on Thursday at his Sipu Puyi residence in West Siang district after prolonged illness, was laid to rest on Friday

Boje, also a renowned priest, orator and folklorist of Galo was born to late Damo Boje on January 1 1941 at Yaari village under the Darak Circle of the district. He is survived by wife, seven sons and three daughters.

He was the first secretary of Lodu Bango Darak in 1961 and founded the Lodu Bango Community School on donation basis. Under his leadership, the Kamba to Darak link road was sanctioned and Boje Moku Dispensary presently known as PHC Darak was sanctioned with his initiative. Later, he was appointed as a Political Interpreter in 1967, promoted to head PI in 1995 and elevated as Political Assistant (Group B Gazetted Officer) and he served the government in different places and retired on January 1, 2005.

Governor Commendation Certificate was awarded to him in 1982 for long years of meritorious service rendered by him. In 1982, he became a Nyibu (priest) of a very high order and performed seven Togu Panam (rituals) in Galo society and contributed immensely to the institution of priesthood.

He was a very good orator and folklorist who use to spellbound listeners in his hey days.

The Lodu Ao Welfare Society has expressed its deep condolence to the bereaved family members and termed his sudden and untimely demise as a great loss to the society, and a setback to institution of priesthood. The society lauded his efforts in creating Darak Circle, role as the Advisor of Lodu Research Mission Team at Tada Dege and Dumporijo, an official release informed here.
