Ri-Bhoi Youth Council celebrates raising day

Shillong, May 9: As a part of the one year anniversary celebration, the Ri-Bhoi Youth Council (RBYC) felicitated the tiol Awardee from Ri-Bhoi Disrtict and the disabled children of the District in a grand function held at Pahamrioh village on Monday.

The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, A.L Hek graced the occasion as chief guest and Rev. PBM Basaiawmoit as the guest of honour.

The celebration was also enthralled by the presence of local villagers and the cultural song performed by the noted state singer, Gulshan Ranee and others.

Apart from felicitating the tiol Awardee, Angelica Tynsong for receiving her tiol bravery award, the RBYC also felicitated the disabled children by distributing blankets to mark the one year celebration of the organization.

The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, A.L Hek and Rev. PBM Basaiawmoit in their keynote address lauded the initiative taken by the RBYC to remember the disabled children which sometimes neglected by the society.

They also urged the leaders and members of the organization to keep on serving their service for the wellbeing of the people in the Society and community as a whole.

Others who was present on the occasion includes W Nongrum, District Social Welfare Officer, Dibishon Malai, Northeast Region Secretary of Human Rights Council of India, K Suting, Headman of Pahamrioh village, Ailang Malai, RBYC President and its members. The celebration was presided over by Hoping Stone Marsing, RBYC Working president.
