Road crash kills 5 person and one Baby in Bongaigaon District

Bongaigaon: Head on collision between a truck and passenger tempo lead to the death of 5 people including a baby on the spot in Bongaigaon on Wednesday afternoon.

Three more people were reported injured during the incident.

As per reports, the passenger tempo bearing registration number AS 26 1263 was hit by a speeding truck bearing registration no HR 69D 1651 near National Highway 31 at No. 1 Nasunguri area under Bongaigaon District.

The deceased passengers were identified as Shattar Ali, Mozamil Haque, Shakur Ali, Bahatun Nesa and Taizuddin (baby) of No. 1 Bashabari area under Manikpur Police Station.

The situation got intensified as the Bongaigaon Police couldn't reach the spot on time. The angry crowd also blocked the highways leading to massive traffic congestion for several hours.

Later, the Bongaigaon Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

Meanwhile, local student body AAMSU demanded compensation for the family members of the deceased passengers.
