Road to Assam Medical College and Hospitals needs repair

A Correspondent

Dibrugarh: The road to the Assam Medical College and Hospitals needs a complete overhaul. Other than some repairs here and there, the road, as a whole, needs to be widened.

The road, as it is marked by several popular private nursing homes lying alongside it, demands even more attention and timely intervention of the authorities concerned. Of late, there have been many instances when a short journey from Grahambazar Eidgah Tinali to AMCH, which normally takes 15 minutes at the most, had consumed more than 40 minutes. Since this road is mostly used by patients, their attendants and people associated with the medical profession in general, such delays can put a lot at stake!

With these hospitals and AMCH attracting patients from the other end of the Brahmaputra even more frequently now, things have only moved out of the frying pan into the fire. Many complaints are coming in from patients from far and near regarding such delay in travel time.

The convergence of many roads - ones coming from Dibrujan, Paltan Bazar, Seujpur, Graham Bazar and AMCH- at Paltan Bazar police point makes the traffic condition even more chaotic and unfriendly to patients.
