Rocket launcher recovered in Tamulpur

Tamulpur: Sensation prevailed along Baksa district when a rocket launcher was recovered along the bank of River Balti near Bimalanagar village under Nagrijuli police outpost in the district of Baksa.

According to eye witness, on Tuesday morning some children were playing along the bank of River Balti and found a rocket launcher lying on the sand of the river.

The children informed the villagers. Getting the information, villagers gathered in the spot. Some villagers informed Nagrijuli police outpost.

Nikhil Singha, in-charge of Nagrijuli police outpost, with a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the rocket launcher and took it to the Nagrijuli police outpost. Police informed the bomb squad of Indian Army. In the evening, the bomb squad reached Nagrijuli and defused and destroyed it. According to Nagrijuli police, there is a firing training centre along the Indo-Bhutan border and it was left by mistake by the Indian Army. Two months back another rocket launcher was found in the same village which was defused and destroyed by the Indian Army.
