Rongjali Bwisagu fever grips Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, April 16: All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) on Sunday organized an open Rongjali Bwisagu at KDSA field with an aim to bring happiness, brotherhood feeling and unity among the people. As part of the programme, the flag of the ABSU was hoisted by the president Promod Boro while the flag of peace and brotherhood was hoisted by Bibekananda Narzary in presence of dignitaries and senior citizens of the district. The open Bwisagu hosted by Kokrajhar district committee of the ABSU was also taken part by members of various Anchalik committees and dance troupes.
Since ABSU has been appealing the people of the region, the leaders and activists of the students’ body paid respect and took blessings from the elders. ABSU president Promod Boro felicitated former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) Brajendra Kr. Brahma with traditional aronai and took his blessings. 
Talking to the reporters, ABSU president Promod Boro said that the students’ body organized the open Rongjali Bwisagu to bring peace, unity and brotherhood among all sections of the society. Former president of BSS Brajendra Kr. Brahma spoke about the impact of globalization on culture and traditions. The Rongjali Bwisagu is celebrated in every Bodo village in Kokrajhar district as the Bodos consider the Bwisagu as the greatest festival followed by Domachi. The old and young irrespective of age and sex, celebrated the Bwisagu in a splendid way with traditional folk Bwisagu songs and dance.
