Around 300 runners are expected to take part in the marathon, chairman of the organizing committee, Kailash Verma said. He further said: “This is expected to be a record breaking event as the officials of the Limca Book of records have agreed to judge the event.”

Verma said the event also aims at encouraging people of healthy lifestyles, promote running culture as well as attract visitors to Sohra.

“We want to create many sustainable projects for the village of Saitsohpen and its adjoining areas. Thus, the event is a means to organize funds for such projects,” Verma stated.
