Rs 100 Crore Allotted for Construction of Sivasagar Roads

JOYSAGAR: The State PWD has allotted a sum of Rs 100 crore for construction and renovation of Sivasagar district PWD roads. State PWD Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma promised to release the sum for Sivasagar roads when he visited the district on August 8 and thereby, the fund allocation has to be completed on August 20, sources informed.

Thowra LAC has received Rs 35 crore, Amguri LAC has received Rs 32 crore, Nazira LAC has received Rs 25 crore and Sivasagar LAC has got Rs 12.80 crore from the entire fund. In the Phase-I construction plan, the Sivasagar-BG Road and Nazira connecting Dhudar Ali was selected and it covers 15 km. Following this, the Joysagar-Bogidol-Nazira connecting Duborani Ali was selected which covers 12 km and the Borali which connects Nazira-Gelakey-Namti Chariali was selected which covers 11.55 km, informed Sivasagar PWD sources. A high-level construction committee has been formed with the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner and the Sivasagar PWD Chief Engineer as nodal officers and all the SDOs of the LACs and MLAs as advisors.
