Rs 54 cr grant for Aruchal

Itagar, March 20: The Union DoNER Ministry has assured Aruchal Pradesh to release 54.02 crore within this fiscal against various ongoing schemes of the ministry in the state.

The state government has already submitted the utilization certificates and progress report besides releasing the state share of fund against the schemes, an official release informed here today.

DoNER joint secretary A M Singh and director B N Prashad informed this to state PWD Minister Gojen Gadi during a meeting at New Delhi on Wednesday which was attended by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, the release said.

The DoNER officials during the meeting said that the Centre has attached top priority to the development of North East and Aruchal being a very sensitive border state would get special attention.

When Gadi emphasized on new projects during the current fincial year and Rijiju supported that many habitations of the vast state were still not connected, the officials agreed to explore possibility, the release informed.

On Gadi’s plea to sanction retained projects soon, the officials assured to consider sanction of project DPRs found in order as per laid down guidelines to the ministry.

Gadi, however, pointed out that such sanctions would only compensate the past delay in expediting development of the tribal state, the release added.
