Rural women help in nation building: Libang

Itanagar, May 7: Empowerment of rural women is essential for nation building, as the development of villages leads to the development of a nation, RD, PR and Cooperation Minister Alo Libang said.
Addressing the participants of Aajeevika evam Kaushal Vikas Mela at Banquet Hall here on Sunday, he lauded the Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM) for its efforts to empower rural women in selected blocks under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (DAY) - National Rural Livelihoods Mission programme (NRLM), according to an official release.
Stating that the DAY- NRLM is being implemented in 12 districts and 15 Community Development blocks presently, he said that the State within a short span had made considerable progress though the practical implementation of the project began in September 2016.
He called upon senior bank representatives, including Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB), NABARD, Apex Bank, YES Bank to voluntarily support financial inclusion to ensure cent percent banking coverage in the State, the release added.
