Safety and awareness meet for electrical workers in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: In view of increasing incidents of electrocution among the electrical workers in the district, a safety and awareness programme for electrical workers and public was held on Thursday at the APCDL office in Kokrajhar. As part of the programme, a demonstration was presented on safety measures to be taken.

Chief Executive officer, APCDL Mukul Patowary, Rural Electrification (Monitoring) officer Nabaeep Roy, Ddistrict Programme Manager, APCDL SHariful Alam were present in the awareness camp and spoke about the safety measures. It is to be mention that around five labourers engaged in electrification of new power line were electrocuted in the district this year. On December 11,one person died and six others were seriously injured when they were electrocuted at Batarmari village in Kokrajhar on Friday. Before that on November 6, two labourers were electrocuted at Bismuri Samokaguri area in Kokrajhar.
