Saikia sends missive to TRAI

GUWAHATI, June 22: In a letter sent to the Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday, Assam Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Debabrata Saikia said that the telecom services being provided to Assam by the Central agency was not at all satisfactory.

“The subscribers are frequently unable to make/receive calls or use data facilities due to fluctuating network coverage. The problem is aggravated manifold when one is travelling over long distances either by road or by train. In this age when people keep track of members of the family or progress of work over phone and perform tasks like financial transactions or official communication online, the level of disruption caused by irregular cell phone connectivity can well be imagined. The people living in village areas are much affected,” Saikia said.
