Sailadhar Baruah Awards in January

The Sailadhar Baruah Memorial Trust is gearing up for the third edition of the Sailadhar Baruah Film Awards ceremony to be held on January 13 next year. The trust invited interested filmmakers to collect forms from their office located at Assam Institute of Mass Communication & Media Research, Uzan Bazaar and then submit their films in Blu-ray or DVD format.

The forms have to be submitted on or before November 20 and films made in any local language of Assam will be accepted.

However, only those films that have been censored between January 1 to December 31, 2017, will be accepted.

The awards will be presented in the categories of Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Film, Best Sound, Best Editing and Best Cinematography.

The trust is also planning to hold the award ceremony at the Northeast level from its fourth edition and will accept any film in the languages of the North-East. The trust is also contemplating the inclusion of categories like Best Art Direction and Best Script.
