SAKYCS demands autonomous council for Koibata community

Dibrugarh, November 28: The State Government headed by Sarbanda Sonowal should initiate process for granting autonomous council to Koibata community, a prominent indigenous community of the State,  in the current fincial year for its overall development. This demand was placed by Sadou Asom Koibata Yuba Chatra Sanmillan (SAKYCS) president  Jayanta Das and general secretary  Gauri Sankar Das, in SAKYCS’s day-long 5th foundation day celebration held here at Laxmith Bezbaruah Bhavan under the aegis of  Dibrugarh district committee of SAKYCS.

The session was successfully concluded with an open meeting, chaired by its president, Jayanta Das. The meeting was iugurated by a Diha am group of Morissa village, Chabua which presented a Diha am in the presence of a number of dignitaries, including Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad general secretary Udayan Kumar Gogoi, vice-president of All Assam Mottock Yuba Chatra Sanmmilan, Devid Chetia, general secretary of Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad, Satyajit Deori, general secretary of Sanmilita Khilongia Parishad, Dibya Pavan Bora, vice-president of Dibrugarh district Koch Rajbangshi Chatra Santha, Prabhat Koch and social activists Dharzya Das and Paresh Das.

 The dignitaries also took active part in the discussion organized on the occasion on ‘Past, Present and Future of Koibata Ja Guosthi’.

Earlier, president of SAKYCS, Jayanta Das hoisted the flag while general secretary Gauri Shankar Das and advisor to its central committee, Kalpa Jyoti Das offered tribute by lighting a traditiol lamp. Floral tributes were also to the portraits of the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, legendary singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika and illustrated woman of the Koibata Ja Guosthi, Aai Sati Radhika by chief advisor, Dimbeswar Hazarika and others.
