Sale centre for agricultural products inaugurated

Haflong, June 13: Despite continuous rain, the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Agriculture Department, Amlan Baruah, in presence of J Barman, Joint Director, Agriculture, Executive Engineer, Fayjul Islam, District Agriculture Officer, Thangnew, J E P Chetia and village gaon bura and hundreds of villagers inaugurated sale centre for agriculture inputs at Kalachand Seed Farm on Monday.

Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Agriculture Department, Amlan Baruah was on visit to Dima Hasao as per the instruction of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to all the senior officials of the State Government to visit once in a month.

Baruah inaugurated the ceremonial harvesting of summer paddy cultivation initiated by the Executive Engineer, Agriculture Dima Hasao Division, Haflong for the first time in Dima Hasao.

Addressing the gathering of farmers, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Agriculture Department assured that the Government of Assam was very committed to the welfare of the farmers for which the government had been providing various facilities to the farmers. He appealed to the farmers to avail these facilities to the fullest term.
