Sanbor Shullai puts CAB baggage on newly-elected Congress MP Vincent Pala

SHILLONG: BJP MLA from South Shillong constituency and Shillong parliamentary candidate Sanbor Shullai has taken back his statement to ‘commit suicide’ and has put the onus concerning the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on the newly-elected and three-time Congress MP Vincent Pala.

Speaking to reporters, at the BJP headquarters in Shillong, Shullai said, “I have stated earlier that if people vote for me and if the NDA government comes back to power and reimplement the CAB, I will commit suicide. However, voters of Shillong have reposed faith on Congress candidate Vincent H Pala. So its up to him to take the full responsibility on the CAB.” Despite losing out on the Lok Sabha election, Shullai expressed his gratitude towards the voters who had “supported him”.
