Sanjiv Bora Memorial Social Organization launches programme in rural schools of Darrang

MANGALDAI: On December 5, 2018, District Program Officer of SSA in Charaideo district, Sanjiv Bora, while on panchayat election duty, died in a road accident. His bereaved wife Pallabi Neog Bora, even after completion of MBA, has chosen to teach the students in Kathanibari LP School of Thelamara in Sonitpur district leaving her job in a multinational company. In order to keep the memory of her husband alive through creative activities, she formed a social organization named Sanjiv Bora Memorial Social Organization on March 14 this year.

Her mission is to do social service and to work for conservation of nature and environment, create awareness among the common people on the proper implementation of government schemes. As she has taken up the path of teaching, she has given more thrust on creating awareness among the students, particularly those living in remote and rural areas.

As her husband had earlier served in Darrang district, Pallabi Bora Neog has come forward with a unique idea to launch ‘Result Improvement Oriented Programme’ in the rural areas of the district and the first programme was conducted in Balabari High Madrassa near Dhula in the district. Pallabi Neog Bora on Monday inaugurated the programme in a well-attended function in presence of students, teachers, village elders and media persons by lighting a lamp in the traditional way. In her speech, she spoke in details about the objectives of the social organization and on the life and works of her husband. In the function presided over by the Superintendent of Balabari High Madrassa Matlebuddin Ahmed, former Professor of Mangaldai College Dr. Bijoy Kumar Sarma, senior journalist Messer Ali, Headmistress of Mangaldai Vidyapeeth High School, Munmuni Dutta, and assistant teacher Nila Moni Kalita appreciated the initiative of the social organization headed by Pallabi Neog Bora. Media person Bhargab Kumar Das, while addressing the function, appealed to all the students not to run after petty jobs but to get them engaged in cultivation in the organic way to make the State more resourceful. Assistant teacher Manab Pratim Das and special educator of RMSA, Khurshid Alam also extended all cooperation in organizing the Result Improvement Orientation Programme.

Under this programme, a group of selected and experienced resource persons will closely interact with the students for a duration of 15 days and the Sanjiv Bora Memorial Social Organization will bear all the expenditure of the programme.
