Sanjiva scores twice in GTC’s victory

GUWAHATI, Dec 18: Gauhati Town club earned full points in the GSA Super Division soccer league defeating arch rival Mahara Club by 3-1 at the Nehru stadium here today.The first half of the games was balanced equally as both the sides scored one goal each before the lemon break. However in the second half Gauhati Town club looked more aggressive and they also scored two goals during the last 45 minutes of the play.

Gauhati Town Club took the lead in the 31 minutes through N Bin Singh. However Mahara returned the goal within 3 minutes when Soulemane Sylla nicely put the ball into the net. Veteran striker Sanjiva Rongpi put Gauhati Town Club ahead once again in the 72nd minutes and later he scored another one just before the fil whistle.
