Sarfraz confident of Pakistan's CT chances

Birmingham, May 26: His side comes into the Champions Trophy eighth in the ICC ODI rankings, but Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed is confident of making the most of having nothing to lose in the upcoming tourment. Pakistan have yet to lift this particular trophy, but come to England with a sense of freedom as they look to reach a first-ever fil -- with excitement the main emotion heading into the tourment.

Edgbaston will first become Pakistan's second home, playing arch-rivals India and South Africa in their opening two matches, while fellow sub-continent outfit Sri Lanka will be their last group opposition.

It was here in Birmingham where Sarfraz stated his side's ambitions for the tourment, confident that a care-free approach can pay dividends in a bid for a global title. "We have nothing to lose, we just want to play our tural game. We have just played a very good series in the West Indies, where the players performed very well," he said. IANS
