Sarva Hindustani Yuba Parishad, Assam welcomes Supreme Court’s date extension

Gossaigaon: The decision of the Supreme Court of India to extend the date for filing claim forms for inclusion of names in the NRC from December 15 to December 31 has been warmly welcomed by the Sarva Hindustani Yuba Parishad (SHYP), Assam. In a press release, SHYP national president Shankar Singh and Preety Choudhury, national working president, stated that most of the Hindi-speaking people from Bihar, UP and Rajasthan who resides in Assam were living in fear as their names were not included in the draft NRC. Hence this decision of the Supreme Court to extend the dateline has come as a relief for them, they said.
