Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Teachers' Four Months' Salary to be Released Shortly by Meghalaya Government

As a relaxing and soothing news for the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan teachers working in Meghalaya, the government of Meghalaya has announced that the teachers working under the SSA mission will be paid their four months’ salary that was pending so long.

This has been announced by the Chief Minister of the hilly state Conrad Sangma who after a meeting with the teachers working under the banner of All Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan School Teachers Association (AMSSATA) gave an assurance to them their unpaid dues will be cleared very shortly.

The AMSSATA President L. Marngar stating the meeting with the CM, said that the government has explained it very well that the delay in the delay of the teachers was actually due to delay on the part of the central governments’ Project Approval Board (PAB) that took so long a time to take a decision on that matter.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, an educational venture of the government of India, has been doing well in covering all states of the country with the sole motto of Universalisation of Education. As per the scheme of the Abhiyan, the aim is to provide quality education for all children at the elementary level between the age group of 6-14 years and the Children with Disabilities too are covered under this mission.

With the teachers working under this mission working so hard to spread the light of education, this is indeed their right to be paid for their duty and a delay of four months in paying their dues is certainly a matter to ponder over. However, now the Chief Minister’s assurance will surely bring a smile of joy on their faces.
