Sarva Siksha Abhiyan’s District-Level Children’s Meet Held In Biswanath Chariali

Biswanath Chariali: A district-level children’s meet was held in the Kamalakanta Bhattacharya auditorium of Biswanath College on Wednesday under the aegis of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Biswanath district with a view to develop the latent talents of children for their physical, mental, intellectual and social excellence.

The main theme of the meet was ‘Education for out-of-school children and mainstreaming’. The day’s programme commenced with morning assembly followed by several competitions among the school children. The competitions included quiz, drawing, speech, wall magazine, dance and singing in which a good number of participants took part. The open session with Pradeep Kr Sutradhar, Biswanath District Mission Coordinator, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, and Additional Deputy Commissioner, in the chair while the objectives were explained by District Programme Officer Manoj Gohain.

The session was attended by State Programme Officer of Assam Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Rebati Mohan Kakati, Principal of Biswanath College, Dr Mrinal Kumar Borah, Patanjali-in-charge Shiva Prasad Saikia, Headmaster Moti Newar, District Programme Officer Bedabrat Borah, Mrinal Dutta and Guljar Hussein. Around 400 children along with their wardens from the residential and non-residential centres of Biswanath, Chatiya, Behali and Gohpur were present in the programme.
