SATSAREE holding Basanta Utsav

GUWAHATI, April 11: SATSAREE, a Guwahati-based NGO, started its three-day Basanta Utsav from Wednesday at Srimanta Sarkaradev Kalakshetra in the city. The Utsav will conclude on Friday. Soon after flag hoisting by its president Mandira Baruah, the NGO started the day with a cultural procession flagged off by Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra vice president Padmashree Surya Hazarika.

The three-day Utsav has programmes contests of Dihaam, Biyaam, Dhuldabon by women, etc.

On the concluding day, the NGO organized a poets’ meet where noted poet Meera Thakur, poet Anij Ujzaman, poet Dr. nda Singh Borkola, poet Nirupama Sarma Parajali and others are going to take part. There will also be an open session on that day where Asom Lekhika Sanstha president Manjula Sarma Bhattacharya and SATSAREE president Mandira Baruah will remain present. On Wednesday, 100 students from Swarlata Shishu Kalyan Samiti took part at programmes like memory test and a vocabulary test (obidhan chua). The students also performed a cultural programme at the function on Wednesday.  Guests of honour at the function are Dr. Karu Sagar Das, Prasanta Rajguru, Harapriya Barukial Borgohain and others. On April 13, after the prize distribution ceremony, Rongmon Hussori troupe will perform.
