Save the Children organizes conference on child rights

Guwahati, Nov 24:  To commemorate the CRC week, Save the Children organized a colorful event in the conference hall of Kak Lal Baruah Auditorium of Assam State Museum here recently.

Several distinguished guests were present in the event and spread the messages for the cause. Noted Artist Noni Borpuzari was present in the occasion and raised his voices against the violation of Child rights.

Addressing the gathering Runumi Gogoi, Chairperson, Assam State Commission of Protection of Child Rights lauded that children’s are the future of our society and all the stakeholders must to raise their voices for protection of Child rights.

Earlier in the morning a drawing competition was held amongst the school children of Guwahati City on the theme “speak out about child abuse”. Awarding the prizes to the children, Thaneswar Malakar, Mission Director of Sarba Siksha Abijan appreciated the drawings of the children, he said “Children you have surprised me with your wonderful and thoughtful pieces of art. Continue the good work”.  A drawing exhibition was also presented with the selected drawings by the children in the event and a sigture campaign was held to spread out the messages to the society.

Through the drawings the school children’s expressed their deplorable situations and sent out strong messages to the society to respect rights of the children to live a dignified living, said Chittapriyo Sadhu, State Programme Mager, Save the Children, Assam.

Artist from a local musical band mely Twisted Players performed few songs to aware the masses about the rights of the children.
