School teachers in State to go on strike

Itagar, Oct 22: The Aruchal Teachers’ Association (ATA) along with the Aruchal Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (ARMSATA) has decided to join the proposed Pen & Tool Down strike called by AASSATA on October 28 and 29 next.

The ATA, ARMSATA and AASSATA in a joint meeting on Thursday viewed that the demands placed by the AASSATA are genuine and legitimate, which must be acted upon by the state government so that the future of working SSA teachers is secured.

The ATA and ARMSATA has joined the Pen & Tool Down strike in solidarity with the agitating SSA teachers and expressing its displeasure over non fulfillment of long pending demands of ATA.

The demand of ATA includes complete bifurcation of Elementary & Secondary Education at District & Block level with creation of DDEE, DDSE & SEO post, creation of Principal & HM/VP Post, Single Grade entry of teachers i.e. Primary Teachers (PRT) for Elementary and Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) for Secondary department, Notification of BEO RR, Timely conduct of DPC twice in a year for all categories, Group ‘B’ Gazette Status for PGT and Restoration of 50% promotiol avenues for PRT through modification of TGT RR.

Further it stated the meeting decided that in event of failure to redress the demands of teachers of state the ATA would lead an intensified joint mass democratic movement with AASSATA and ARMSATA after the third phase of AASSATA strike, a press release informed here today.
