Scuffle breaks outside Asom Gana Parishad party office in Guwahati

Guwahati: Tensed situation outside Asom Gana Parishad party office after a clash broke out among some party workers of AGP and a section of protesters including some women.

As per reports, some section of general people took out a rally in front of AGP office entrance gate leading to scuffle thereafter.

Speaking to the media, one of the women protesters said, "We are not from any party, AGP workers had beaten up one of our protesters which is wrong. AGP leaders have betrayed us. The leaders of AGP are opportunist. They have come into alliance with BJP to form Government, betraying the ideologies of the regional party. This is our regional party, we love AGP, but the three leaders had played with our emotions. Coming into an alliance with BJP means AGP is supporting CAB'16 which violates Assam Accord."

Meanwhile, Latasil Police Station had detained one alleged AGP worker for physically assaulting one of the protesters.

Also, speaking to The Sentinel Digital, officer-in-charge, Latasil Police Station, Upen Kalita said, "We have detained few protesters and AGP workers after the clash. A medical test was conducted and we will be releasing them now. The matter is under control. No case has been registered in connection to the matter."
