Section 144 CrPC imposed

Doomdooma, October 18: In view of ensuing Kali Puja and Diwali, Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in whole of Tinsukia district by the district administration apprehending breach of peace and loss of life and public property.

A press statement to this effect was issued by the District Information and Public Relation Officer (DIPRO), Tinsukia on Tuesday. As per this prohibitory order, bursting of crackers has been prohibited in places lying within 4 metres from the retail outlets and, within 100 metres from the educatiol institutions, hospitals, court and religious places.

While it is totally prohibited in Digboi Oil Refinery, AOD Oil Depot, Tinsukia, petrol pumps, protected areas, public places, roads and in places where silence is to be observed, its use has been prohibited in between 10 pm to 6 am of the following day. Further, total ban has been imposed on the sale of  crackers that produce sound pollution. The prohibitory order has come into effect from October 16 and will be in force until further order.
