Section 144 CrPC in Ri Bhoi

Shillong, April 18: The Additional District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi district, Nongpoh has under Section 144 CrPC, prohibited any person or organization from indulging in, or resorting to acts of poisoning of rivers, streams or any other water bodies with the explicit or implicit intension to cause wide spread destruction of aquatic life. The order will cover all major and minor rivers and water bodies in the district. This has been stated in a press release. The order comes into force with immediate effect, the release added.
